The vision of the DPAS, Undip, is to become a leading and pioneering study program in the development of science and technology in Animal Science, producing professional and high-quality graduates, all dedicated to enhancing human dignity and, in particular, to shaping well-rounded Indonesian individuals who are faithful and devoted to God Almighty. Determining the study program vision based on association input involves forming a task force team, gathering aspirations from internal stakeholders (leadership, lecturers, employees, students, alumni) and external (industry, graduate users, professional associations), conducting needs and trends analysis, holding Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to align input, drafting the vision, and ratifying the vision through a decree after a refinement process based on feedback.
The mission of the DPAS-Undip program includes :
- Developing human resources with an excellent mental attitude based on global-quality competence, confidence, and communication skills, supported by high commitment,
- Developing a system of animal science and technology capabilities with environmental awareness to become a leading educational institution,
- Establishing extensive networks for the provision of animal science and technology services, especially for scientific input in the planning and policymaking of livestock development in the region,
- Producing doctoral graduates in animal science who master a specific field of animal science and related areas through research processes aimed at updating tropical animal science and technology for human welfare.
The objectives of the DPAS-Undip program are :
- To produce graduates who have the ability to develop new knowledge and technology in the field of tropical animal science through research, resulting in creative, original, and tested works.
- To produce graduates who have the ability to solve problems in the field of tropical animal science using interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary approaches.
- To produce graduates who are capable of managing, leading, and developing research and development that benefits science and humanity, and who can gain recognition at both national and international levels.
The DPAS conducts its educational process with the aim of producing graduates with profiles established by Undip, namely: communicator, professional, leader, entrepreneur, thinker, and educator (COMPLETE). This objective is adopted by all study programs at Undip. Specifically, the objectives of the DPAS are :
- DPAS graduates are prepared to become educators
- DPAS graduates are prepared to become researchers capable of analyzing and solving problems in the field of animal science.
- DPAS graduates are prepared to become bureaucrats (decision-makers and policymakers in the field of animal science).
