The Animal Science Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Undip has held a guest lecturer lecture with resource person Prof. Sutrisno Hadi Purnomo, S.Pt., M.Sc., Ph.D with the theme The Role of the Livestock Industry in Rural Economic Development. He is a Professor at the Animal Husbandry Socioeconomic Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. The guest lecturer lecture was held on October 4 2023, 10.00-12.00 WIB in the hall of the Undip Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture. In his presentation, Prof. Sutrisno said that the agricultural sector in general was proven to be one of the sectors that was able to survive both during the monetary crisis and during the recent corona virus pandemic. It was further stated that in order to equalize the economy of rural communities, efforts are needed to increase government involvement in the production chain so that not all aspects of production from upstream to downstream are carried out by large companies.
