Semarang, September 9, 2024 – The Animal Husbandry Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture (FPP), Diponegoro University (UNDIP) held a Closed Dissertation Examination for Rahma Wulan Idayanti, S.Pt., M.Sc. on Monday (9/9) at the Soejono Koesoemowardojo Building, FPP, UNDIP.
Rahma was declared to have passed and was entitled to hold a Doctoral degree after successfully presenting and defending her dissertation entitled “Utilization of Dieng Karika Seeds as Feed for Fattening Young Sheep” in front of the Promoter Team and Examiner Team. Dr. Rahma is the 71st Dr. from the Animal Husbandry Doctoral Study Program, Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Agriculture, Undip with a study period of 3 years and 1 month. Through her research, Rahma managed to find that the tannin and saponin content in Dieng karika seeds can be reduced by boiling them for 10 minutes. Moreover, in the research conducted in vitro, digestibility decreased along with the addition of karika seeds, and the research conducted in vivo on sheep, namely the addition of 20% Dieng karika can be utilized well, providing good productivity and meat quality and producing the lowest feed costs.
