On Monday, October 14, 2024, 09.30-12.00 WIB, the Doctoral Program in Animal Husbandry, FPP-Undip has held a guest lecture, with the speaker Prof. Dr. Hasliza Abu Hassim from Universiti Putra Malaysia. The topic of the guest lecture was Enhancing Livestock Production in the Content of Climate Change for Food Security and Sustainability. Prof. Dr. Hasliza said that an increase in income will often be followed by a shift in consumption patterns from carbohydrate-based food to protein-based food, especially animal protein. Thus, the livestock industry has a very important role in maintaining the availability and security of livestock-based food. In the future, so that the livestock industry can survive well and remain profitable, the livestock industry must implement the use of information technology so that this sector will be more competitive, explore the use of alternative feed sources that have more affordable prices and must pay more attention to reducing the negative impact on the environment from the livestock industry, especially reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the livestock industry.
